An attitude adjustment

What causes a bad attitude? Is it a circumstance, a problem, a bad day, a hormonal imbalance? while all these things can effect our attitudes they should never dictate them. So, what does cause an attitude problem.

I believe that all attitude problems stem from a vision problem. not the vision of the eyes, but the vision that comes from our perspective. While it is true, sometime external things can make us grumpy; even in these times we can overcome a bad attitude.

In my own personal life, I have experienced days that everything went right, but because I had a bad attitude the day felt bad. in contrast, I have had days where everything thing went wrong but Because I kept a good attitude the day seamed good. I am sure that I am not alone in this experience.

What though, can help us keep a good attitude even when things aren’t going the way we want them to. I believe the key is fond in I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice evermore.

Pray without ceasing.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

These verses hold a troth that I believe is so important for Christins. These are not suggestions but commandments. We are required to rejoice, pray, and give thanks… in every situation. To do this means we are adjusting our own attitude by taking it to God. first, by praising him and rejoicing for who he is and what he has already done; second, by praying about the situation and decern what God’s will is in allowing it into our life; Third, by thanking God for allowing that to come into our life trying to see the purpose behind it but thanking him regardless.

If we follow this Biblical pattern, the Bible can help us maintain a good attitude. Even on the worst days, with the most imbalance hormones, the broken-down cars, and all the problems life can bring our way, we can still have a good attitude toward others and toward God who is working all things together for our (and his) good.
