My mother once told me, the true test of a servant is when you act like one, when treated like one. Sometimes we serve for the wrong reasons. We think it helps our image, or maybe it helps us feel productive and needed. There are many reasons why may want to serve, but being a servant is a thankless job many of times.
Many Christian’s today forget that they are actually called to be servants. This means we need to obey our master. Who is our master? Non but God. Unfortunately, we forget that we are servants to God and we thing it is the other way around. That God is our servant. We ask him for things , and we should, but many times it is not in the spirit of a servant asking a master for something.
Jesus said,
Luke 6:46
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
This should not be true of us. We should be obeying the commandments of Jesus and trying please him alone.
