I spend every second of every day with myself! Everywhere I go, there I am. I know that is a little silly, but it is true. It is also true that every second of every day I am with the God that created the universe.
You see, the God of the Bible is an infinite God, he is omnipresent – that means he is everywhere at once. The Bible tells us that “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” Proverbs 15:3 KJV. This is only one place that tells us God is everywhere. He is outside of creation in a similar way that we are outside of the computers and phones we operate. God is everywhere at all times, and he knows everything that is going on. He even knows the very thoughts we have.
It should be a sobering thing that God is always with us. If we are willfully sinning against his law he knows it. Imagine a government that could spy on you with 100% accuracy! Yikes! You could never get away with speeding, or not wearing your seatbelt. No lying on tax forms and what if we didn’t agree with their laws? It wouldn’t matter. Well God knows every time we speak a lie or say something unkind or vulgar or if we even think it. He knows every time we break one of his laws because he is always there. That should be a sobering thought.
But guess what, since I have been adopted into his family, He is no longer condemning me for the things that I am doing wrong. He, as a kind father, corrects my mistakes and failures and he is supporting me all the way. He is always there to ask for help, he is always there protecting me, he is always giving me strength to get through the hard things. While I would hate for my government to have this type of knowledge of me because they would misuse it, I am happy that God is always with me…. every second of the day.
