How much money does it take until you are rich enough? How many times does it take to drink a drink of alcohol until you are drunk enough? How many times does it take to “get high” until you are high enough? When is enough, enough?

Jesus when he asked the woman at the well to give him drink he told her, “Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” John 4:10 The only way we can find real satisfaction in this life is by drinking the Living Water of Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 13:5 KJV

⁵ Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

This verse reminds us that we should be a people that are not marked by covetousness, but contentment. The object of our contentment should be non other than Jesus Christ. He is enough.

He must always be enough. In the good times and the bad, He is enough. When we are walking through the shadow of death, He is enough. When the storms of life come crashing down around us, He is enough. When trials come, He is enough. When we are forced to lay a loved one into the grave, He is enough. When A spouse fails us, He is enough. When we are on the high road, He is enough. When we are alone in this world, He is enough. When our enemies have surrounded us, He is enough. When we have lost everything, He is enough. He must always be enough.

Let us live out our days knowing that Christ is enough.
