Ages of Love

In ages of mercy,
contained in blessed love
Twirls in God’s goodness
And aged woman, spilling Gods love.
Sweet memories bounced from her
As the dropping of rain
Not knowing how to fit in or out
Loneliness a strain.
Light in eyes surrounded by laugh lines deep
Her hair reaching depths and shades of grey
Her parents and childhood friends sleep.
Ages of grace embodied in her.
Yet her God still cares
and she leans on his Word
She is clothed in beauty and with righteousness gird.
She spies a young couple
And a kindred spirit she finds
The wife in her youth
The husband in his prime
Who similarly don’t know how to fit in or out
In worlds of cliques
And the pretense of clout
So in the spare moments
before the session begins
She takes a moment to be a friend
And regals this young couple
With three under three
Of all the beautiful stories
That aged parents can see.
Ages of wisdom from eyes thatve seen much
And hands which bring a caring touch
Share How growing up with parents
And working with your hands
Keeps a marriage strong
And love keeps the wedding bands.
Such a sweet soul and spirit today we found
Friends and love from far across town.
One in Sapulpa, the other miles away dwelt
In Claremore, her kindness is still felt
As this young mom, by her bed again knelt
And thanked God for the friends
and blessings of the day
For the embodiment of love, from ages away.
