About us

In September of 2023 my wife, C.L., and I answered – what we believe to be – God’s call for us to go to India. We had a long visit with our pastor and his wife over some amazing Thia food while we discussed what God had laid on our hearts. A few Sundays later we made our announcement public in our church. C.L. and I have been married three years in September and have 2 amazing little girls, Selah and Joy (pseudonyms). We are now working toward going to India. Our hope is that starting in 2024 I will be able to make a short trip to Southwest Asia to gain some insight and start to figure out the logistics of a possible move to the large country of India. We are excited to be used by God and are striving to not let the cares of this world hold us back. We are not so naive to think that this will be just some grand adventure but know that opposition will come. This is no easy task. We covet your prayers for safety, wisdom and boldness.

Yours in Christ, S.T.

Currently We are trying to order our lives to please the Lord, raising our children to the best of our ability to glorify our God. I (S.T.) am still working my usual job, trying to build our home, and provide as best as I can for my family while still trying to prepare and learn all that I can while I am in a place of waiting.

God burdened my heart as a young child for missions and later as an adult India came into view; I have been prayerfully seeking God’s direction on if I should just stay in the states, trying to help my local church and establish my family, or if this burden that keeps coming to the surface is really God’s guiding hand of direction. As previously mentioned, my family and I spent a week away from everything trying to get an answer from the Lord. During a morning family devotion, I read over Psalm 32 and it was if God spoke to me directly with those words (not audibly of course).

When I read verse 8-9 it was as if God said ‘I will direct you. I have given you understanding so that you can know what I want you to do, and where I want you to go. I want to lead you and guide you with my eye.’ God’s vision of his desires fulfilled is what should be leading me and as I understand his heart I will be more sensitive to his leading. It is then that I believed we were supposed to pursue a ministry of evangelism in India.

We hope to set up this page to explain our burden for India, posting prayer requests and a date when God answers prayers, and posting an update on what we are doing and what God is doing in our lives.

We hope to get a lot of information up here soon, please come back to visit this site in the following weeks.

Our Vision for India

Right now, we are still praying for clarity in what God would have us to do in India. That does not mean that I do not have a vision for what we want to see happen in India, but I want to make sure that I am not imposing what I want to see done onto God’s vision.

That being said, here is my current desire and vision for India:

Farmer suicide is plaguing this nation. Farms that have been owned by families for decades are falling into debt and eventually this load becomes too much for the man responsible to bare. This Wikipedia site explains some of the horrifying statistics:

Farmer suicides in India refers to the national catastrophe of farmers dying by suicide since the 1970s, due to their inability to repay loans mostly taken from private landlords and banks. NCRB data shows that the incidence of farmer suicides has remained high in the 6 years between 2014 and 2020. 5,600 farmers died by suicide in 2014, and 5,500 farmers died by suicide in 2020. If the agricultural [sic] labourers are added to the 2020 number, the number of suicides rises to over 10,600.

Being a native-born Okie, I have a soft spot for farming. I realize that the plage of suicide is not isolated to India or farmers. It is my prayer that God will lead us to a place Northeast of Delhi near the Pakastani Boarder and be able to help some farmers ease their burdens at the foot of the cross. It is also my hope that somehow God will give us some land to live on and farm ourselves. This section of land would be used to teach the people that want to learn English but cannot afford to do so. We hope to establish a Church, and soon after open homes for orphaned children and girls/women that have been forced into legal [yes legal] prostitution.

India is not open for Missionaries to come and establish farms, churches, or orphanages so all that we do I hope to be done by way of trust. You see, God has entrusted us to preach the gospel to every creature. By establishing a trust, we should be able to hold property – as trusties – for the benefit of those afore mentioned and also teach the word of God.

Prayer requests

  1. For wisdom and understanding: There are so many areas were we lack wisdom. Medical, travel, Biblical, false religions of the area, and so much more. We need the wisdom of God above all else.
  2. Souls! In this digital age we now live, we have been able to share the gospel message with some folks in Pakistan and India through email, phone calls, and social media. We also have been developing tracts and videos to help share the Word of God with those immediately around us.
  3. That God would help us get all our travel documents: We do believe in God ordained governments, and that we are supposed to pray for and – when applicable – obey them. I also believe that the beast in Revelations is a type of government that controls people’s rights to buy, sell, and travel freely. Before we can submit to a rule made by a government we must first look to the Law of God and obey it. sometimes they will be in alignment and sometimes they will be in opposition. “We ought to obey God rather than men” Acts 5:29
“And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.” Mark 12:17 It is our desire to render unto the government (both foreign and domestic) the things that are required of us by the Law of God, and not to unintentionally give them authority that only belongs to God.
  4. For a native speaker of Hindi to teach us while we are state side
  5. A local connection
  6. Farmland for us to live on, grow food on, host a refuge on. We are specifically praying for a piece of land that is about 10 acres or more.

Accountability

As trusties we believe that we will give account to God for all the deeds done in our body (the trust property). We also believe that we should be open and accountable for the way we use the assets of this gospel trust. For that reason, we have resolved to try and document the gifts that come in – no matter the size – and how they are being used. It is our conviction that God will supply all the needs for his gospel trust to reach the people in India and we hope that one day these documents will encourage others to trust on the Lords almighty hand of provision and not the arm of flesh.
