There are few things that are irreplaceable, but the things that matter most to me are the simple gifts that were given to me by the people I love most. My wife loves to give me little notes, and my eldest daughter gives me simple things like wildflowers she picked up on a walk. My youngest daughter graces me with her kisses and I know that I am loved by them all.
The greatest thing I could ever possess is the love of those dear to me. My eldest daughter has memorized this special verse:
1 John 4:19 KJV
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Jesus first loved us. His love is dynamic, and because of that he gave us a gift. He gave us the gift of life and paid the price which was his death.
Romans 6:23KJV
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The thing that I hold dear are those promises which I find in the Word of God. God himself has given so much to me, because he loves me, and he loves you.
